Considering the latest trends in home design has made me want to throw away some of my existing furnishings and go shopping for myself as well as my clients! Relaxing, stylish, and functional designs are in vogue. New collections of colorful accents, eclectic environments as well as patterned and rich fabrics such as velvets are highlighted. Torched metals, gold and brass, wood, greenery, beautiful wall hangings, fireplace mantles, including organic surfaces are featured. Open concept living continues to be among the favorite design elements to meet today’s lifestyles.
Paint Colors! The current color palettes impact me as positively as a friendly hug. Do your favorite color collections cheer you up and/or help you relax? The colors include neutrals such as grays and whites, as well as blues, greens, and some shades of purple. Adding touches of black and dark gray can give a room a richness that appeals to your senses. I sometimes toss in a few orange accessories to uplift my spirit. The Sherwin Williams color of the year is Oceanside, a luxurious and dreamy blue. Caprice is the S-W color for the month of September.

I am thankful for color since it helps set the mood of a home. For example, yellow depicts happiness, red is for passion, orange is a feel good color, and shades of grays are neutrals. I hope the colors in your home uplift your life!
